About This Curriculum

This course teaches Microsoft Word 365 from the very first keystroke through advanced, professional document skills, designed specifically for blind and visually impaired learners using JAWS for Windows. Every lesson follows the same structure — overview, learning objectives, key terms, detailed explanation, keyboard shortcuts, JAWS and accessibility notes, step-by-step instructions, a practical example, common mistakes, a hands-on practice activity, review questions, and a summary — so students always know what to expect and can study independently.

English is the primary language of instruction; short Somali summaries are provided at the start of each lesson to support understanding. Microsoft Word interface terms and technical vocabulary remain in English throughout, since these are the terms students will encounter directly on screen and in JAWS announcements.
